The Results of the World Championships in Stuttgart!

One more rhythmic gymnastics World Championship is over. The results were quite predictable, nothing surprising happened.

The forth place of Salome Pazhava in the All-around competitions was a pleasant unexpectedness. In general, she is not new in the elite. At the present season she deserved to take part in the finals of the great competitions. In the World Championship Salome performed perfectly in the All-around competitions, so the result was consequential. Partly she was lucky that Ganna Rizatdinova and Yeon Jae Son made mistakes. But the point is that Salome took her place. When people talk about geography widening it is appropriate to name Salome who managed to get to the elite not having a famous coach.

The last Championship was pre-Olympic. What state of things do we have before the Games?

Yana Kudryavtseva is a leader of the whole Olympic cycle. In Germany she broke her records one more time and strengthened her powers. The sportswoman performed with foot injury. That couldn’t help but influence her balance and turns. But Yana is a professional and she knows how to compensate forced defects. In particular, Yana works with apparatuses masterly as nobody can. Her exercises are correct and her music is successfully chosen. In the All-around competitions after three routines Margarita Mamun caught up with Yana Kudryavtseva. But as it usually happens with Margarita she couldn’t keep her leadership having dropped her ribbon. At present Margarita Mamun is the stable number two who usually stands by the first one but sometimes she can get to the leading position. Despite the successful performance the third Russian gymnast, Aleksandra Soldatova, couldn’t dominate Margarita Mamun. But everything may be changed at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

The World Championship wasn’t very successful for Ganna Rizatdinova. It happened mainly because of her mistake at the first type of exercises in the All-around competitions. At that moment it became clear, there would be no medal. Ganna managed to pull herself together and to raise her positions in the tournament’s scale having dominated Neta Rivkin, Marina Durunda and Yeon Jae Son. The results are fair. Ganna’s fifth place was the result of a gross mistake.

The Korean gymnast, Yean Jae Son, is a serious threat for the Russian and the Ukrainian gymnasts on the threshold of the Olympic Games. From 2013 most people understand who will take the leading positions in Rio. Perhaps it will be quite deserved. The main fight will be for the bronze medal. Who will be the main characters? Here we must remember that Melitina Staniouta had a serious injury. The process of recovery was hard and took much time. It was a real feat that she didn’t leave sport. Of course, Staniouta wants to get a medal at the Olympic Games, there is no doubt in it. Ganna Rizatdinova is a perfect example of a sport behavior, nothing can make her give up. During this preparation cycle she works hard on herself. If we compare Ganna in 2013 and in 2015, the difference is clear. Perhaps no other gymnast from the elite managed to go so far. First, she improved her work with apparatuses, made her dancing skills better. Now her compositions are connected with other. Ganna’s technique became perfect long ago. Some turns are unique. Yeon Jae Son could be the third candidate for the bronze medal. She took the fifth place at the Olympic Games in London. During the whole cycle she won the first medals in history at the greatest competitions. Finally, she has powerful (within the limits of rhythmic gymnastics) Russian lobby.

Eleonora Romanova managed her task pretty well. Unfortunately, the leg injury didn’t let her perform in the All-around competitions. She was replaced by Viktoria Mazur. Viktoria surprises us all the time. A great gymnast with unique abilities always impresses in the trainings. But her performances are not so perfect.

The Russian gymnasts got licenses to Rio. The level of the Ukrainian gymnastics presupposes that their gymnasts also deserve the right to compete at the Olympic Games. But, unfortunately, Viktoria Mazur will not be able to get to the Olympics through qualification. So, Ganna Rizatdinova has the only one Ukrainian personal license.
